Patrick Curran was convicted of the murder of Joan Roddam 74 who he killed at her home in Cornwall in November 2003. He was 27 at the time and had a sexual interest in older woman and possibly killed her after she refused his advances.
Joan Roddam was found dead in a field behind her bungalow on 8 November 2003 wrapped up in a blanket and hidden under a wheelbarrow. She had been suffocated.
A few days before the killing Patrick Curran had been to his doctor to discuss a rise in his libido.
He was arrested at the time but not charged, however, after a cold case review of her unsolved murder in 2014 he was arrested and charged with her murder.
